Light Reading

According to the twisted, pathetic individual who will not leave this weblog alone and has forced me to switch comment moderation on:

"You ban individuals from your "gang" if they lodge reasoned argument against yours. If they question your motives. If they expose your manipulation and perversion of information. If they expose the inconsistencies, double standards, spinning and lies for which you are responsible."

And these are some of the nicer comments!

I assume that in his case and given the recent gap between his last series of attacks, his medication has worn off.

I thought I was simply running a personal weblog and I have to thank him for convincing me to enter local politics. If his pathological hatred of me, Roger Gale and Conservatism hadn't existed, I'm sure I wouldn't have been encouraged to run, so he has done, the party he supports a huge favour!

If you want to write hate mail, then by all means, send it from your own email address to mine and sign your name. I will attempt then to offer you the courtesy of a reply. This weblog isn't run as a platform for those who wish to abuse others, even me and in this case. While some readers may hold the view that Tony Blair and Gordon Brown are virtuous politicians and that a socialist paradise is within our grasp, I have every right to express my own doubts in this weblog and invite intelligent and polite rebuttal; not playground abuse from those who are unable to find a platform for their views elsewhere.

Sadly, comment moderation will remain until he becomes bored with the personal attacks.

Simon,It's interesting to learn that one person influenced you to enter politics, Actualy, we have something in common because one person influenced me , her name is Margaret Thacther.

I have said before Simon, I think your writings are becoming more and more political. I find it quite a turn off to be honest. Whether we share the same political viewpoint or not I used to enjoy your local interest stories. I'm losing interest now and I honestly feel that this weblog is becoming a propaganda tool in your quest for election!

Some people just dont get it! these weblogs are a personal opinion, they should not abuse the authors, I had one deranged idiot who was so stupid he was going to arrange for my dismissal from Bignews margate. Since the same bloke earlier threaten my life I though it best not to try and educate him.

You just do what you have to simon.

I'm sure Tony, that local Labour must be delighted that one of their own gave me such wonderful encouragement!

I have no axe to grind about the increasingly conservative trend on Thanetlife. For 12 months I have read spirited attacks on incompetent TDC and KCC local government (both Tory controlled councils) and if there is an ever increasing dis-illusionment with Blair and Buggins Brown, is that really surprising? All I know is that spontaneity and vigorous debate goes out of the window when Comment moderation is in play. I wouldn't mind if One Voice at Thenetonian maintained his own blog whilst targetting Thanetlife but the last posting on that site was in February. Do us all a favour 'One Voice' and argue your case sensibly and without ire and vitriol because a different perspective is valuable and is worth airing. Rehabilitate yourself with the 'Doc' or get on and post on Thanetonian!

I can understand your frustration DrMoores, but why not disable moderation, let the dimwit post and then just delete his posts? He'll soon get fed up with all his effort being wasted.

Am I alone in thinking that 'One Voice In Thanet' is a seriously sad individual ? A new name is needed 'One Voice' (is he a red Indian) How about Big Mouth in Thanet, no-one cares what you have to say, nobody is interested in your opinion. Get a life - preferably somewhere else. To all the others who are 'discontent' with this site, there are others, bye !

It would mean that I have to constantly watch the site to ensure that such unacceptable content is not published. He tries to post one after the other after the other...!

Well I'm surprised to hear that Tony, party HQ has always been hot on the importance of new media but I guess that Labour in Thanet has such strength and quality in depth that it really has no need to worry about the May elections.
