Keeping Up Appearances

The beach is being cleaned more efficiently than I've ever seen before, so well done TDC, this makes a huge difference to the quality of life perception of local residents and gives us a coastline we can be proud of.

Sadly though, visitors to St Mildred's Bay now have nowhere to commune with mother nature on other matters, as you can see from the sign on the toilet door.

Who are the members of the vicious little gang causing thouands of pounds of damage to local amenities? Is it the same group who strike with monotonous regularity elsewhere, a problem not confined to Westgate either, with similar teenage gangs causing vandalism across the island.

How do we stop it and more importantly perhaps, where does the poor lady jogger I spotted looking desparate outside the toilets this morning, go to relieve herself at 08:30 in the morning?

Hats off to the TDC cleaner at West bay (next to St Mildred's Bay) yesterday afternoon, he was doing a grand and diligent job. The promenade was looking spotless. I hope the new 'in house' teams are well managed...?

Take a look at the railings around Preacher's Knoll in Broadstairs, Dumpton Gap, or walk round the back streets of Ramsgate, and you'll find it's the same old story.

Not good enough, TDC.

If you see the lady jogger in distress again, suggest that a "paula" might alleviate theproblem.

anon again!

because of some uncontrolled little idiots, the Westgate conveniences are closed?

I wish them all 'acute diahrrea' and an incurable bladder infection.

The old "Vandalism" wheeze is a good one. Last June I enquired of TDC why the lift at Palm Bay was not working. They told me their enginneers were waiting for a spare part. In August they told me the lift was definitely going to be open before the end of the summer. After a few questions on my behalf from my local councillor they said it had been closed because of vandalism. I live within view of the lift and the only sign I have seen of vandalism was graffiti. I know the pen is mightier than the sword but really......

Lift is still not working.
