Going-Up and Up

A couple of illustrations from a BBC survey from February showing relative house prices in Thanet and across Kent as a whole. these show us that local property is in demand and this is driving up prices, as more millionaires drive their Bentleys along the A229 looking for a new home with a sea view.

The leading question is of course one that asks how many thousand new homes need to be built to bring the pricing down to the county average and where are we going to put them all. There's not a single vacant car-parking space I can see left in Westgate which hasn't now got a doll's-house sized two up, two down on it.

No problem, got it sussed. Why have caravans that TDC says we can't see? Lets build all over the Shottendane Road, Minster Rd and Park Rd area and have houses we can see.

If you took Ramsgate out of the Thanet equation, you'd be looking at increases on a par with a your average potting shed.

I rather question if anyone is actually 'paying' these prices, or is it all really an estate agent dream?
There seems to be an awful lot of offices opened in the 'lettings' market.......

I think getting a cliff top mansion for a mere £860,000 is an absolute bargain. You wouldn't get a sniff at a potting shed in Barnes for that money.

Dunno about Barnes prices now ECR but guess who used to live at no:9x Castelneau!? and would drink at the Sun Inn?
