As a fellow biker I would like to offer my deepest condolences, and a plea that all you car drivers out there are especially careful when it comes to checking for bikes.

The roads are particularly greasy at the moment what with all the salt that's been chucked on them, condensation, diesel spills from improperly maintained vehicles and so on. The conditions are so bad that any emergency stop could prove disastrous on a motorcycle, so please make allowances.
